At the end of this seminar; Al Madina Islamic research center Karachi presented a list of recommendations for correcting the current system of Islamic banking and establishing an authentic Islamic banking system. These recommendations broadly fall into the following categories:

Introduction

Non-shariah compliant elements in the currently practiced system of Islamic banking.

Basic proposals for a fundamentally correct Islamic system

Other recommendations.

Introduction:

A Banking network based on the system of interest is an incurable poison not only for the general society and its trade and economy but is also a declaration of open war with Allah and His messenger (sallalaho alaihi wasallam); which should be absolutely unacceptable in a Muslim society. A Muslim whether he is a scholar a businessmen or holding any other individual capacity must generally implement Islamic principles in every aspect of his life, yet more specifically in matters of income and trade this implementation needs to be meticulous and precise. Implementation of Islamic banking in place of interest based banking is an extension of this very same shariah compliant mindset and deserves high praise. Moving on from the rock solid foundations of the interest based banking system to a purely sharia compliant, fundamentally Islamic system of banking is a very tough proposition indeed. Hence all Islamic scholars and businessmen involved in this immense struggle deserve our praise and appreciation.
