This treatise explicates his research approach that he employed in his literary work and research study. Ibn Qayyam is one of those well-known academics who emphasized on referring to Qur’ān and Sunnah in matters of differences in either theological (Kalāmī) or jurisprudential (Fiqhī) aspects instead of resorting to some specific school of thought or a sectarian group. Moreover, in case if an issue is not explicitly discussed in Qur’ān and Sunnah, then he was of the opinion of referring to the Prophet’s companions (Ṣaḥābah) for its understanding and therefore, considered their opinions to be the authority (Ḥujjah) in such matters. |
